KRUJA, ALBANIA

The name of the town derives from the Albanian word "kroj'' that means spring. Population of the town is 20,000. This is the birthplace of tha national hero Skanderberg. The main attraction is the mediaeval fortress built by Skanderberg. It houses two museums. One is about the national hero and the war against the Ottomans and the other is the ethnographic one representing the traditions of the local people.
