Troyan Monastery is the 3rd largest monastery in Bulgaria. It is located in the northern slopes of the Central Balkan Mountain. It was found in the 16 th century. It is situated on the banks of Cherni Osam, in the village Oreshak.
Since the 17th century , Troyan Monastery keeps one of the holiest icons in Bulgarian Orthodoxy, the Three-Handed Virgin.
Many pilgrims also visit the monastery on St. George's day because of the icon of St. George in the main church.
