Starosel is a village in southern Bulgaria, which got worldwide popularity in year 2000. The Thracian complex and the burial chambers in the nearby area were discovered and researched by the team of Dr. Georgi Kitov. There he and his colleagues found a Thracian cult complex without any analog so far in the Thracian researches. They found a mound and a sanctuary. The area is developing fast as a tourist destination also because of the wine industry in the region. The vines have perfect conditions to grow there. There is a large hotel complex with a winery, which offers wine tours and tastings.
