Melnik is the smallest town in Bulgaria, situated on the southern slopes of Pirin Mountain. It is located just 30 km from the Bulgarian-Greek border. Melnik is well known for its best wines and traditional houses dating from the Bulgarian Renaissance period. The town surrounded by a complex of stunning sandstone pyramids, a real natural phenomenon. The most famous house-museum is Kordopulova House – the biggest in the area, built in the middle of the 18th century.
