ARCH OF TRIUMPH

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA

The arch of triumph was built in 1922 to commemorate the Romanian soldiers that died in the First World war. The original structure was wooden but in 1935 replaced by marble and granite. Architect of the project is Petre Antonescu, who made the enormous building of the Parliament. The arch was built in classical style after the model of the Arch of Triumph in Paris. It is 25 meters high and you can climb to the top using indoor staircase.
